24-position tube rack for tubes witha diameter of ~15 - 16.6 mm and a length of 70 mm or more. Holds 15 ml conical bottom centrifuge tubes. SBS compliant. See product description for details.



The 16mm tube rack from Alpaqua is a deck accessory designed to accommodate a range of tube types from 15-16.6mm in diameter, such as 15ml centrifuge tubes (VWR, Axygen, BD, Corning, etc.), 12ml KIMAX Culture tubes, Oragene OG-500 tubes and Tyco Monoject Tubes.

When using the tube rack with 15ml centrifuge tubes on a Biomek platform, an open ALP position is required. This allows the tube v-bottom to project through the floor of the tube holder. This offset is necessary to accommodate 1ml tips due to height restrictions.

Q: Is the 16 mm tube rack (A000260) compatible with the MagPlate24 (A000270)?

A: Sadly, no. The center-to-center distance of the magnet plate is 18 mm (standard for 24 well plates), on the tube rack it is 20 mm. The tube rack was designed for 15 ml centrifuge tubes, and the threaded part of the tubes is 19.30 mm in diameter.
